Internet Marketing And Catch 22

by Bob on June 15, 2009

I’ve discovered recently the big catch with Internet Marketing. When you first start making a few dollars on-line seems impossible. You start a few Blogs and Squidoo lenses then slap some affiliate offers up. You sit back and wait for the money to come in :)

After a few weeks with no sales you scratch your head and can’t understand what’s going on. After all you’ve built it so why don’t they come? Realisation slowly starts to dawn that maybe Internet Marketing isn’t easy money after all. Once the shock is over you start to buy information products that promise quick and easy results. Eventually after much trial, error and a lot of cash you come up with a system for promoting your assets.

At last you get your first sale and you’re made up. You’ve discovered you can make money on-line but it takes a lot of work (understatement of the year). You smile to yourself and think you’ve cracked it fame, riches and twin shaving heads will soon be mine.

Now if your goal is to make $500 – $1000 a month that’s all you need to do. Rinse and repeat.

The problem comes when you try to scale this method up so that you can earn a lot more than that. You start to run out of time. All that bookmarking, article writing, Blog posting and web site creation is just taking you so much time you can’t expand any more. You’ve already got so many plates spinning it’s impossible to expand any more.

This is the big catch. To earn any more money you are going to have to outsource a lot of the work you’re currently doing to someone else but you need the money you’re making at the moment to live on! So you keep working hoping that at some point you’ll be able to afford to outsource.

I’m at this stage now I’m earning a reasonable amount but not enough to live on and outsource.
I’ll let you know how I get on.

Wish me luck.

In order to be prosperous in affiliate marketing, you have to design your site in such a way that makes it easy for visitors to visit the website and purchase your recommended product or service.
