For those that don’t know RoboForm is a password manager that helps you manage all your on-line passwords (no surprise there). I used to use it in the past but abandoned it in favour of Keypass which is Open Source and therefore free

Now I love Keypass and in the past it has served me well but with the introduction of RoboForm V6 I thought I’d give it another try.

I’m glad I did as all the niggles from the earlier versions have been addressed and like Keypass you can now run it from a USB stick and move it from computer to computer.

Now I’m paranoid when it comes to security and although Robo Form encrypts your user Id’s and passwords using a variety of algorithms (DES, AES, Blowfish, 3DES and RC6) it’s source code is not available for peer review so it’s effectiveness is not really known.

I add another layer of security by using PGP Full Disk Encryption to encrypt the entire USB stick. This means I have to mount the USB stick first (pass phrase one) and then unlock RoboForm (pass phrase two.

If someone steals my USB stick first they have to brute force my PGP volume (my pass phrases are all over 20 characters in length and include special characters) then crack the RoboForm encryption.  Good luck with that unless you’re a security agency

Anyhoo it at least gives me a couple of days to change all my sensitive passwords before the stick is compromised (in reality it would probably never be cracked but why take the chance)

If you can’t afford PGP you could use TrueCrypt which is open source and does a similar job or if you can’t be bothered with full disk encryption and aren’t paranoid you could just rely on RoboForm.

I’ve also used Tcpview and Process Explorer and can see no evidence of RoboForm making any outbound connections.

So if you want a top notch (the best and easiest to use) password manager that has the following features:

• No more having to remember passwords
• Log into Websites (banking, social media, wordpress and many more)
• Strong encryption of user ids and passwords
• Fill in forms automatically
• Can be run off a USB stick (RoboForm2Go)
• Separate Identities

As Internet Marketers we need to store many different user ids and passwords and managing them can be a pain in the butt. Anything that makes that easier and saves time (and therefore money) has to be a worthwhile investment.

RoboForm The Best Password Manager?

The suspense is killing me! Dan has just Tweeted that he’s still short listing the Immediate Edge Intern Applications and will start informing people week beginning 16th August.

I’m reminded of the lyrics “If you’re not living on the Edge you’re taking up too much room” by Reverend and the Makers – Heavyweight Champion of the World. Well I’m not taking up much room at the moment

Oddly enough I’ve learned a lot just by applying and have discovered a weakness (shock – horror) that the application process has highlighted so even if not picked it’s been a worthwhile process.

I just hope I’ve done enough to show Dan I have the potential to be his intern.

I’m On The Immediate Edge Of My Seat!

I love the way Scribd not only lets you embed content on your WordPress Blog but also it’s awesome ranking power particularly for low competition keywords.

As of this posts date and time it’s ranked at number 3 for the term “Dan Raine Intern”. It started at number one but then inevitably dropped below Dan’s Twitter posts (Damn).

I’m experimenting to see if this post helps it at all even though it’s a reciprocal link. Hey if you don’t test you never discover anything new right?

The trick now will bet to get it to stick and avoid the dreaded Google Dance. I’m firing a few backlinks at it but don’t want to appear spammy so I’m going slow.

I intend to do some more experiments with Scribd by embedding the documents in various posts and checking how they rank and stick over time. I’ll test reciprocal and one way linking and see if they both work.

I have a suspicion the embedded objects on a Blog may help the original document rank as per Youtube.

I’ll let you know the results in a couple of weeks so don’t forget to bookmark this Blog.

Scribd Rocks Don’t You Think Dan?

The deadline for Dain Raines Intern Program is fast approaching and it looks like a lot of people have applied.

Having reviewed as many of the videos as I could find on Youtube using “Dan Raine Intern” and “Immediate Edge Intern” as the search parameters the competition is fierce and a full day still remains.

It has been great fun seeing what other people have produced and it’s obvious a lot of talented people are applying (damn them!)

Dain Raines Intern Program – Applications Closing Tomorrow

I’ll just come out and say it I love gadgets. All types of gadgets. The more expensive they are the more I want them. My long suffering wife just doesn’t understand this desire and is always trying to spoil my enjoyment by calling them a waste of money

I’m still trying to persuade her to let me buy an Ipad but so far her resistance is total (futile in the long term).

So what’s a guy to do. I’m trying to create the right impression with Dan Raine as he searches for his  Immediate Edge Intern and I don’t have one of the hottest gadgets to come out in many years the Ipad.

Damn – I suppose I’ll have to pretend I don’t actually want one because I have something better See for yourself and make up your own mind I think I make a fairly good case for Eggburt what do you think?

Eggburt – Dan Raine – The Intern – Who’ll Win?

Dan Rain and the cursed Immediate Edge Intern Program nearly ruined my marriage Well that’s not entirely true but it did introduce a little bit of friction.

You know what it’s like you have an important project to complete and you want it to be perfect. In my case it was a Youtube video that needed to be created as part of the Intern entry requirements.

You scurry around looking for all the tools you’ll need – Flip video camera check, tripod check chroma key background sheet missing!

CAROL (my wife) I bellowed where’s my chroma key background.

Your what she replies. You remember the huge muslin green sheet that I paid £44 ($60) for. The one you moaned a bucket about.

Dunno where it is you had it last she retorted.

Well it isn’t where I left it are you sure you haven’t seen it I really need it (by now I’m suspicious as I recall one of her massive clear outs last week) are you sure you haven’t chucked it out?

No I haven’t you find it.

Damn I can’t prove it but I know she’s given it away in one of those plastic bags that the charities leave out for you to fill with all your old clothes.

OK Bob don’t panic although I don’t have time to order a new one before the deadline their must be another way.

Well their was,  an old blanket that was a little bit short but did the job (sort of).

Dan Raine And How The Immediate Edge Intern Program Ruined My Life

The Immediate Edge Intern program is now open until Friday 30th July 2010. I’m applying for it after all if you’re not in it you can’t win it

I’ve completed all of the prerequisites and have uploaded my Youtube video as requested. I’m now looking for places to  embed it and remembered this ugly site I set up over a year ago.

I just left it to mature so to speak and think it may be time to add a little content. It’s only PR1 but the domain is now a year old so who knows I may start using it as a link driver.

I’ll post my progress on the internship on this Blog and hope I get beyond first base

The Immediate Edge Intern Program

If you’re like me you suspect some people are able to make money using Twitter. You’ve probably created a few accounts and dabbled with trying to sell affiliate products by Tweeting / Spamming your links. Did it work? My guess is it didn’t I’d also guess you made nothing, not a red cent.

Do I think Twitter Tycoon is going to make me rich? I really hope so but I doubt it. I think it will  give me at least  a ten times return on my investment and more importantly has shown me how to use Twitter to help support my other online SEO projects.

My Verdict: If you have a spare $27 then I wouldn’t even think about not buying Twitter Tycoon I guarantee you will get your monies worth and maybe a whole lot more.

PS I’m going to tidy up my own Twitter accounts and implement what I’ve learned NOW. If you’re just going to buy the course, watch the videos and glance through the PDF’s and take no action then do me a favour – Don’t buy it and save yourself $27.

I think it was Jim Rohn who said “What you move towards moves towards you” If you’re not going to move (take action) then anything you learn is going to be useless to you

Twitter Tycoon Reviews

I’m sure everyone has heard of Squidoo especially if you are trying to make any money from the Internet. I have over 200 lenses and have in the past loved the ranking power these lenses have. Google loves them to bits and with a bit of effort can get a PR3-4 lens with plenty of juice in about 6 months to a year.

But they have really ticked me off this time. They have changed their definition of what constitutes a spammy lens and has started to lock them. To date I’ve had five of my best performing lenses locked with no explanation or reason given. These lenses receive about 800 hits a day have pages of comments and no affiliate links except an Amazon module.

I’ve emailed Squidoo and to date have not had a single lens reinstated So I’m hacked off. I notice that Squidoo have increased the number of ads displayed on a page by adding text links (you have to opt out if you don’t want them).

What gives then? Squidoo increases it’s links (many of which are spammy) but tells us that certain niches are off limits (Diets, Colon cleansers etc). I think it’s outragous trying to pander to the big G (Google) and stiffing us in the mean time.

My advice is move Squidoo to Squidnoo and move it down your list of favourites. Squidoo used to be my number one place to start now it’s at about number six and it doesn’t get my best material.

So for me it’s a big Squdnooooooooo.

Squidoo Or Squidnoo?

Having researched a niche, bought a domain, set up a WordPress Blog and have a number of articles posted the next problem we have is how are we going to monetise the Blog. As this is a brand new Blog in a niche we are not 100% sure will earn us any money we want to rapidly add some banner ads to see if we can convert any traffic we get into sales.
